Holden Caufield- he is in highschool. he is a bad student. he gets kicked out of his boarding school. he thinks life is a big fake. he is depressed because he is losing his innocence by growing up, and he is doing "adult" things by drinking and going out with girls. he has the personality of a jerk and he judges people often. he thinks all people are "phonys" and only thinks a couple of people are legit.
Phoebe Caufield- she is holdens little sister. she is six years younger then him. holden says she is pretty much the only legit person he knows. she is holdens example of "young innocence" he wishs he could be like her cause he is growing up and losing his innocence.
Mr. Antolini- he is the only person that really gets through to holden. he doesnt act like a teacher to holden, but more like a friend. he doesnt scold holden for his drining and smoking ways. but more or less opens up a door and lets holden know that he has a friend or buddy to talk to. so to holden, mr antolini is the only adult that he thinks is legit.
